Sonidos subtitulados reúne ocho fragmentos de película de 35 mm completamente ennegrecidos sobre los que aparecen impresas breves descripciones sonoras tomadas del subtitulado para personas sordas e hipoacúsicas. Expresiones como [música rota], [zumbido eléctrico] o [silencio] sobreviven aquí desprendidas de las imágenes y los sonidos a los que alguna vez estuvieron ligadas. La obra imagina una película desaparecida de la que sólo permanecen estas anotaciones acústicas: restos textuales que transforman lo audible en escritura y convierten la lectura en un ejercicio de escucha imaginada.
Como en aquellos relatos construidos a partir de huellas dispersas, donde la ausencia obliga a inventar conexiones entre fragmentos inconexos, la obra propone una arqueología mínima de una película perdida. Las tiras de film funcionan como vestigios de un acontecimiento inaccesible: no conservan la imagen ni el sonido, sino apenas las marcas que alguna vez intentaron describirlo.

Subtitled Sounds brings together eight fragments of completely blackened 35mm film, on which brief sound descriptions taken from subtitling for the deaf and hard of hearing are printed. Expressions like [broken music], [electrical hum], or [silence] survive here detached from the images and sounds to which they were once linked. The work imagines a lost film of which only these acoustic annotations remain: textual remnants that transform the audible into writing and turn reading into an exercise in imagined listening.Like those stories constructed from scattered traces, where absence forces the invention of connections between unrelated fragments, the work proposes a minimal archaeology of a lost film. The film strips function as vestiges of an inaccessible event: they preserve neither the image nor the sound, but only the marks that once attempted to describe it.
